Learning, Leading, Succeeding

North Duplin Elementary is a community school! While we are small, our outreach is huge. I graduated from North Duplin along with many of my colleagues that teach with me. I think this speaks to the sense of community because so many of us want to come back and be a part of the learning opportunities and the sense of family our small school creates for our students. Even though DCS is a smaller district with fewer resources, our administration, staff, and community all work closely together to provide for the needs of students in every way possible. DCS is always willing to fight for what is best for students! Through our extensive STEAMA program and educational field trips, we provide career paths and opportunities that expand our student’s knowledge. While I want my students to learn our curriculum, I also strive to teach them to be caring, hard-working, and respectful little people who carry those same traits into adulthood.

I enjoy the opportunity to have access to the internet and student devices. The use of technology helps me a lot with my schoolwork and it also helps prepare me to use technology tools in the future. I also appreciate the opportunity to participate in sports. Sports help me become more physically fit and have a healthier lifestyle. The thing that I enjoy most about school is that I get to learn new and exciting things and I am able to hang out with my friends. North Duplin Elementary is a very special place! Our school is filled with great students, teachers, principals, and staff. They all work hard to help us do our very best!

When I grow up, I want to be a police officer.  My teachers help teach me how to be kind and helpful to others. Police officers are always helping other people. I also like to run in PE class. This helps me get ready to be a police officer too because sometimes I might have to run after the bad guys. I like going to the cafeteria for lunch and eating with my friends. My friends and teachers make my school special. My teacher makes learning fun because we use LEGOS, books, and blocks to learn new things. I like coming to school at North Duplin Elementary every day!

"Career Day at North Duplin Elementary gave me a chance to listen to a doctor from Goshen Medical Center. This helped me because I want to be a dentist when I grow up. I am thankful that my school offers Career Day so that I can learn more about jobs that I am interested in. I enjoy being in Math and Science class because those are my favorite subjects and because my teacher Mrs. Villa makes math and science easy to learn. Another thing that I love about my school is my music teacher, Mrs. Becky. She makes music fun and exciting to learn. I thank North Duplin Elementary for giving me teachers that make learning fun."
