NDE's Leveled Library
What is a leveled library?
- houses multiple-copy texts to support small group intervention and differentiated instruction
- contains book resources that provide suggestions to teachers as they develop interventions and differentiated instruction
- contains texts for lower level readers, average readers, and advanced readers which helps meet the needs of ALL small groups in our classrooms
How are books organized?
- currently levels A-Z on Fountas and Pinnell leveling system
- 6 copies per title (noted on bag if different)
- grade level classroom sets (packaged in 6,8, or 12 packs) have been placed in their correct Fountas and Pinnell level
- all bins are labeled with titles and set numbers
- all book bags are labeled with titles and set numbers
- all books are barcoded to ensure accountability and searchability in Destiny's online library catalog
