CLICK HERE to access Accelerated Reader!
Accelerated Reader is a computer program that helps teachers and librarians manage and monitor children's independent reading practice. Students pick a book and read it at their own pace. When finished, students take a short quiz on the computer which assesses reading comprehension. Accelerated Reader gives children, teachers, and librarians feedback based on the quiz results, which the teacher then uses to help students set goals and direct ongoing reading practice.
Accelerated Math is computer software that helps teachers manage and monitor students' mathematics practice and mastery. Students using the program receive individualized daily assignments that challenge them on the skills they need to work on most. Individual reports show the student and teacher which problems were answered correctly and incorrectly which allows the teacher to help each student succeed.
STAR Reading is an assessment of reading comprehension and skills for independent readers through grade 12. STAR Reading tracks development in word knowledge and skills, comprehension strategies and constructing meaning, analyzing literary text, understanding author's craft, and analyzing argument and evaluating text.
